PikeView and Herbert Hoover squared off in some playoff action on Tuesday, but PikeView had to settle for second. They came up short against the Huskies, falling 3-0. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last four times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-6, 25-13, 25-9.

Herbert Hoover's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Braelyn Adkins, who had 11 digs and two aces. The dominant performance also gave Adkins a new career-high in assists (six). Olivia Huddleston was another key player, getting six aces.

PikeView has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost 16 of their last 17 matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-20 record this season. As for Herbert Hoover, their victory was their ninth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 51-8-1.

PikeView does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Herbert Hoover, they will face off against Greenbrier East at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday.
