Basketball Game Recap: Monmouth United vs. Wethersfield

You can't lose the contest if you win every quarter, and that was precisely the Wethersfield Flying Geese's strategy against the Monmouth United Red Storm on Tuesday. Wethersfield enjoyed a cozy 49-35 win over Monmouth. Monmouth can consider this payback for the 53-46 loss they dealt the Flying Geese the last time the teams encountered one another February.

The victory bumped Wethersfield's record up to 18-8. This is the second loss in a row for Monmouth and nudges their record down to 19-7.

Wethersfield will take on Galva Friday. Wethersfield won't have the home-court advantage, but they do enjoy an advantage in the MaxPreps rankings. The Red Storm are on the road again Friday and play against Princeville. The odds don't look promising for Monmouth, but the bigger the opponent is, the harder they fall.
