Basketball Game Preview: Challis Vikings vs. Butte County Pirates

Challis is 1-9 against Butte County since January of 2022 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Saturday. The Challis Vikings will take on the Butte County Pirates in a holiday battle at at 7:00 p.m. Challis will be strutting in after a win while Butte County will be coming in after a loss.

Last Saturday, Challis was fully in charge, breezing past Watersprings 55-17. That looming 55-17 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for the Vikings yet this season.

Meanwhile, Butte County faced Oakley in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Friday. Butte County fell to Oakley 45-40.

Butte County has traveled a rocky road recently having lost six of their last eight matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-6 record this season. As for Challis, they now have a winning record of 3-2.

Challis couldn't quite finish off Butte County in their previous meeting back in February and fell 29-27. Can Challis avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
