Softball Preview: Miller City Wildcats vs. Van Wert Cougars        
        
		
            
 After eight games on the road, Miller City is heading back home. They will take on the Van Wert Cougars at 5:00  p.m.  on Thursday. Miller City is strutting in with some hitting muscle, as they've averaged 8.9  runs per game  this season.
 Miller City can now show off three landslide victories after their most recent  match  on Tuesday. They blew past Leipsic 13-7. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for Miller City considering their one-run performance the  matchup before.
  Isabel Reyna spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered four earned  (and three unearned) runs on 13 hits and racked up eight Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't  pitched less than five  innings in three consecutive pitching appearances.
 On the hitting side,  Chelsea Wilhelm was a standout: she scored two  runs and  stole two bases while going 3-for-4. The team also got some help courtesy of  Anna Niese, who  went 3-for-5 with two  runs, a  triple,  and a  double.
 Meanwhile, sadly, Van Wert is still looking for their first win of the season after six  contests. They fell  9-4 to Antwerp on Monday.
 Miller City's victory  ended  a  three-game drought on the road  and  puts them at 3-5. As for Van Wert, their loss dropped their record down to 0-6.
 Miller City took their  win against Van Wert  in their previous matchup  back in April of 2023 by a conclusive  13-5. Will Miller City repeat their success,  or does  Van Wert have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
