Basketball Recap: Richland Center Starts Season with Loss on the Road

Richland Center had to start their season on the road on Tuesday, and it wasn't the start they were hoping for. They took a 45-37 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Viroqua Blackhawks. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last five times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

Viroqua found their leader in freshman Noah Schwarz, who dropped a double-double with 23 points and ten rebounds. Another player making a difference was Brandon Skrede, who posted eight points and five boards.

Viroqua has started the season off flawlessly and has a 2-0 record to show for it.

Coming up, Richland Center will host Coulee Region Christian at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Viroqua, they will head out on the road to face off against De Soto at 7:15 p.m. on Thursday.
