Baseball Game Preview: High Tech SD Storm vs. Lincoln Hornets

For the second straight game, High Tech SD will face off against Lincoln. The Storm will welcome the Hornets at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. The last three games High Tech SD has played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.

High Tech SD is probably headed into the match with a chip on their shoulder considering Lincoln just ended the team's five-game winning streak on Tuesday. They fell just short of the Hornets by a score of 3-1. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss the Storm have suffered since March 21, 2024.

For Lincoln's part, Julio Ojeda made a splash no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing 4.2 innings while giving up just one earned run off one hit. Ojeda has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-2 with one run and one RBI.

In other batting news, Sebastian Sosa was excellent, getting on base in all three of his plate appearances with two stolen bases and one run. Jesus Padilla was another key player, getting on base in all three of his plate appearances with two stolen bases.

The win (which was Lincoln's fourth in a row) raised their record to 11-7. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.3 runs on average over those games. As for High Tech SD, their defeat was their first in the league, dropping their league record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 7-6.
