James Newton's Big Game Leads Western Alamance over Person
Starting off the list is Western Alamance's James Newton, who we judged to be the best player in the league this week. Newton rushed for 102 yards and a touchdown on only 11 carries, and also picked up 69 receiving yards. That's the most rushing yards he has posted since back in October of 2023.
Person had to have seen this coming; the last time they saw Newton it was a similar story. Back in October of 2023 (the last time Newton saw the Rockets), he rushed for 106 yards and a touchdown on only nine carries.

Kyrian Fuller Delivers Best Effort of Season
On Friday, Williams got the W thanks in part to Kyrian Fuller playing the best football he has all season. Fuller rushed for 28 yards and a touchdown, and also caught a touchdown. The effort marked the most rushing yards he has had since back in October of 2023.
The victory was the eighth in a row for Williams, bringing their record for this year to 8-1. Fuller and Williams will welcome Person at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.

Williams picked up their eighth consecutive win on Friday thanks in part to Kristopher Rogers. Cedar Ridge had no answer to Rogers as he rushed for 47 yards and three touchdowns.

Big Game from Mahan As Williams Won 65-0
Dan Mahan's big game helped extend Williams's winning streak to eight on Friday. Nobody could stop Mahan as he threw for 126 yards and three touchdowns while completing 85.7% of his passes. He is on a roll when it comes to passing touchdowns, as he's now passed for three or more in the last three games he's played.
If the past is any indication, Mahan could be in store for another big game when he takes on Person on Friday. Back in October of 2023 (the last time Mahan saw the Rockets), he rushed for 75 yards and two touchdowns on only six carries, and also threw for 274 yards and a touchdown while picking up 11.9 yards per attempt.

Rounding off our Top Five is Jayden Russo of Eastern Alamance. Russo rushed for 55 yards and a touchdown.
