Tennessee has gone a perfect 5-0 against Gate City recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Thursday. The Vikings will look to defend their home field against the Blue Devils at 5:00 p.m. Tennessee will be looking to extend their current five-game winning streak.

Tennessee saw some tournament action on Wednesday. They came out on top against Smoky Mountain by a score of 13-10.

The home team had come away the winner the last four times Gate City and Lee had met, but sadly for the fans who attended this one that wasn't the case. The Blue Devils walked away with a 6-3 victory over the Generals last Tuesday.

Brycen Steele looked comfortable as he pitched 2.1 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two hits in four consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Eli Minor, who went 2-for-4 with one home run and three RBI. That home run was his first of the season. Another player making a difference was Jackson Jones, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-4.

Gate City kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.

Tennessee pushed their record up to 13-5-1 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home. Those home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.5 runs over those games. As for Gate City, their win bumped their record up to 4-2-1.

Tennessee took their victory against Gate City when the teams last played back in April of 2024 by a conclusive 11-3 score. Do the Vikings have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Blue Devils turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
