Basketball Recap: Manchester Takes a Loss

Manchester lost against Fayetteville-Perry back in December of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. The Manchester Greyhounds were dealt a 59-22 defeat at the hands of the Fayetteville-Perry Rockets. While losing is never fun, the Greyhounds can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 682nd, while the Rockets are ranked 70th).

Fayetteville-Perry found their leader in sophomore Cara Rummel, who went 7 for 16 en route to 14 points in addition to five assists and five steals. Another player making a difference was Christina Murphy, who posted 11 points and three steals.

This is the second loss in a row for Manchester and nudges their season record down to 3-11. As for Fayetteville-Perry, the victory keeps them at an undefeated 11-0.

Manchester will face off against Williamsburg at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Fayetteville-Perry has already played their next contest (against Cincinnati Country Day), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
