Volleyball Recap: Gwynedd Mercy Academy Comes Up Short

If Gwynedd Mercy Academy was riding high fresh off their 3-0 takedown of Sacred Heart Academy on Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Monarchs fell just short of the Germantown Academy Patriots by a score of 3-2 on Monday. The loss continues a trend for the Monarchs in their meetings with the Patriots: they've now lost four in a row.

Gwynedd Mercy Academy started the match hot and won the first two sets, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 21-25, 23-25, 25-13, 25-13, 15-7.

Reilly Graham paced Gwynedd Mercy Academy's offense, picking up 13 kills. Graham got some help from Kelly Boland and her 30 assists. Emma Fazio controlled things from the service line, finishing with three aces.

Gwynedd Mercy Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 8-5. As for Germantown Academy, their win bumped their record up to 10-6-2.

Gwynedd Mercy Academy wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 3-2 victory against Merion Mercy Academy on the 30th. As for Germantown Academy, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 3-0 win against Baldwin on the 30th.
