Softball Preview: Beachwood Bison vs. Harvey Red Raiders
The Beachwood Bison will head out on the road to take on the Harvey Red Raiders at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. Beachwood will be looking to extend their current seven-game winning streak dating back to last season.
Beachwood is hoping to deliver their fans another blowout on Saturday, just like they did against Brush (and have done all season long). Everything went Beachwood's way against Brush on Thursday as Beachwood made off with a 16-7 win.
Arianna Preston was a major factor no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, tossing five innings while giving up three earned runs off five hits. Preston has been consistent recently: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts every time she's pitched this season. Preston was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring two runs and stealing a base while getting on base in three of her five plate appearances.
In other batting news, Beachwood got a massive performance out of Amaya Brown, who scored four runs and stole two bases while getting on base in four of her five plate appearances. Allie Rindsberg was another key contributor, scoring three runs and stealing a base while getting on base in three of her five plate appearances.
Meanwhile, Harvey fell victim to a tough 22-5 defeat at the hands of Orange on Thursday.
Beachwood's victory bumped their record up to 3-0. As for Harvey, they now have a losing record at 3-4.
