McDowell piles up the points against Asheville

In what's become a running theme this season, the McDowell Titans gave their fans yet another huge win on Wednesday. They took their contest on the road with ease, bagging a 81-35 victory over Asheville. The victory was familiar territory for McDowell who now have five in a row.

McDowell got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Kensly Stewart out in front who scored 17 points. Stewart hasn't dropped below 15points for four straight games. Abby Wyatt was another key contributor, scoring 15 points.

McDowell pushed their record up to 13-2 with that victory, which was their fifth straight on the road. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 65.0 points per game. As for Asheville, their defeat ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 8-7.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. McDowell will face off against Erwin at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Erwin will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps North Carolina Rankings (they are ranked 228th, while McDowell is ranked 56th). As for Asheville, they will head out on the road to take on North Buncombe at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. That game will pit two of the most dominant guards against one another: Aubrey Gilliland and Hayziah Dillingham.
