Baseball Recap: Wahoo/Bishop Neumann Comes Up Short

Wahoo/Bishop Neumann was the 17-1 winner over Fort Calhoun when they last played one another back in April of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Warriors took a 10-6 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Pioneers on Thursday.

Quin Schutt made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-3 with one home run and two RBI. That home run marked the first that he has launched this season.

Wahoo/Bishop Neumann has been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-6 record this season. As for Fort Calhoun, the victory was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 8-1.

Coincidentally, Wahoo/Bishop Neumann and Fort Calhoun will both be playing Central City/Centura the next time they take the field. The Pioneers will head out to face the Kernels at 2:30 p.m. on Thursday, while the Warriors will play them later in the day, at 5:30 p.m.
