Softball Recap: Westfall Victorious

The third road contest was the charm for Westfall, as they earned their first away victory of the season. They narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past the Grove City Christian Eagles 7-5. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Mustangs have posted since April 19, 2024.

Adrina Hicks spent all six innings played on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned (and two unearned) runs on four hits. Those hits marked the first that she allowed this season.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Kenzie Cook, who scored two runs and stole two bases while going 2-for-2. Logan McNeal was another key player, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-3.

Westfall's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-3. As for Grove City Christian, they now have a losing record of 1-2.

Looking ahead, Westfall will square off against Wheelersburg at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. The Pirates will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something the Mustangs surely won't give up without a fight. As for Grove City Christian, they will challenge Bishop Rosecrans at 5:15 p.m. on Monday.
