Softball Recap: Prairie du Chien Comes Up Short

Prairie du Chien lost against River Valley back in May of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. Prairie du Chien wound up with the same score they had in their last game (6-5), but sadly the team found themselves on the wrong side of the score this time.

Rita Achenbach made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-4 with one home run and three RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Camryn Knapp, who went 2-for-4 with one run and one double.

Prairie du Chien's defeat dropped their record down to 9-3. As for River Valley, they moved to 4-5 with that victory, which also ended their three-game losing streak.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Prairie du Chien will host Iowa-Grant at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. The Blackhawks' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Panthers have averaged an impressive 7.3 runs per game this season. As for River Valley, they will look to defend their home field on Monday against Sauk Prairie at 5:00 p.m.
