Basketball Recap: Southern Comes Up Short

After flying high against Miller last Saturday, Southern came back down to earth. The Southern Tornadoes received a blow on Friday as they fell 71-52 to the Eastern Eagles. The Tornadoes were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Eagles earlier this season, when they won 64-61.

Southern's loss was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 9-1 and their overall record down to 16-4. As for Eastern, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 13-8.

Looking ahead, Southern and Peebles will face off at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday without much rest, having both just played. As for Eastern, it'll be a Battle of the Birds when the Eagles challenge the Golden Eagles at 7:30 p.m. on Monday.
