Basketball Recap: Marshall Beats South Callaway for Their Seventh Straight Victory

Marshall put another one in the bag on Wednesday to keep their perfect season alive. They put the hurt on the South Callaway Bulldogs with a sharp 77-57 victory.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Marshall to victory, but perhaps none more so than Chase Thompson, who shot 47% from the field to rack up 22 points and five steals. Thompson's afternoon made it five games in a row in which he has scored at least 16 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Kane Viquesney, who went 7-for-16 en route to 18 points and eight rebounds.

Marshall's win bumped their record up to 3-0.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming contests. Marshall will square off against Mexico at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. This will be the Owls' first chance to prove their worth in the conference. As for South Callaway, they are packing up and heading out on the road for their first away game of the season: they will challenge Fatima at 5:00 p.m. on Monday.
