Basketball Game Preview: Tracy Bulldogs vs. St. Mary's Rams

Tracy is 0-10 against St. Mary since January of 2019 but things could change on Wednesday. The Tracy Bulldogs will welcome the St. Mary's Rams at 7:30 p.m.

Tracy will head into Friday's matchup out to bounce back: they won a close one the last time they played, but unfortunately they suffered a serious change of fortune on Friday. They were outmatched by Lincoln and fell 74-32. The contest marked the Bulldogs' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Meanwhile, St. Mary's entered their tilt with West on Friday with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. They rang in the new year with a 54-44 victory over the Wolfpack. The win was all the more spectacular given the Rams' disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 345th, while the Wolfpack are ranked 126th).

St. Mary's had a senior duo take command as Vincent Arnaudo went 5 of 8 on his way to 11 points and five rebounds and William Weathington posted eight points in addition to five assists and five steals. The dominant performance gave Weathington a new career-high in steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Will Stephens, who put up seven points.

St. Mary's now has a winning record of 8-7. As for Tracy, their loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 12-2.

Tracy took a serious blow against St. Mary's in their previous meeting back in January of 2024, falling 66-39. That matchup was all but decided by halftime, at which point Tracy was down 48-16.
