Basketball Recap: Fairfield Comes Up Short

Fairfield was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their 13th straight defeat dating back to last season. They were five points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 46-41 heartbreaker at the hands of the Pekin Panthers. The Trojans were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Panthers apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in December of 2020.

Fairfield's defeat dropped their record down to 0-12. As for Pekin, they moved to 7-7 with that victory, which also ended their three-game losing streak.

Fairfield has already played their next game (against Fort Madison), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Pekin will venture away from home to take on Louisa-Muscatine on Tuesday.
