Baseball Recap: Springboro Picks Up Fourth Straight Win at Home

It may have taken eight innings to finish the job, but Springboro ultimately got the result they hoped for on Monday. They had just enough and edged out the Miamisburg Vikings 8-7. The Panthers haven't had any issues with the Vikings recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive victory against them.

Springboro got a big performance out of Ben Veletean, who went 3-for-4 with four RBI. Those four RBI gave Veletean a new career-high. Jacob Cane also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.

Springboro pushed their record up to 8-4 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home. Those home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.0 runs on average over those games. As for Miamisburg, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost seven of their last nine matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-8 record this season.
