Basketball Game Preview: L'Anse Creuse North Crusaders vs. Port Huron Northern Huskies

The L'Anse Creuse North Crusaders will head out to face off against the Port Huron Northern Huskies at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. The squads are rolling into the game with opposing streaks: L'Anse Creuse North has struggled recently with eight losses in a row, while Port Huron Northern will arrive with four straight wins.

Last Thursday, L'Anse Creuse North had to suffer through a 42-15 loss at the hands of Romeo. The game marked the Crusaders' lowest-scoring match so far this season.

Meanwhile, Port Huron Northern won against Marysville on Tuesday with 46 points and they decided to stick to that point total again on Thursday. Everything went Port Huron Northern's way against Sterling Heights Stevenson as Port Huron Northern made off with a 46-24 victory. Given the Huskies' advantage in MaxPreps' Michigan basketball rankings (they are ranked 141st, while the Titans are ranked 522nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Port Huron Northern's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 11-4. As for L'Anse Creuse North, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-12.

L'Anse Creuse North came up short against Port Huron Northern in their previous matchup back in March of 2024, falling 42-36. Can L'Anse Creuse North avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
