Soccer Game Preview: Gilmer vs. Cherokee

The Gilmer Bobcats will square off against the Cherokee Warriors at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

While the 3-3 score might suggest a draw, it was Dalton Academy who was credited with the win on Tuesday. Gilmer have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back matches.

Cherokee is likely headed into the contest with a focus on the second half, which is when things went downhill against Wheeler on Friday. The Warriors fell just short of the Wildcats by a score of 1-0.

Gilmer's defeat dropped their record down to 4-4. As for Cherokee, their loss dropped their record down to 1-5.

Gilmer came out on top in a nail-biter against Cherokee in their previous matchup back in February of 2025, sneaking past 1-0. Do the Bobcats have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Warriors turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
