Recap: Maclay Marauders vs. Madison County Cowboys
Even though the Madison County Cowboys scored an imposing 58 points on Thursday, the Maclay Marauders still came out on top. Maclay slipped by Madison County 59-58. This was payback for Maclay, who suffered a 56-34 loss the last time these two teams met.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Maclay to victory, but perhaps none more so than Avery Coffin, who scored 20 points along with 8 rebounds. That makes it two consecutive games in which Coffin has scored at least 25% of Maclay's points. Jalen Crawford was another key contributor, scoring 18 points along with 3 steals.
Madison County's lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Labron Lee, who scored 18 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Marcus Hawkins Jr., who scored 11 points along with 6 rebounds.
The win got Maclay back to even at 1-1. As for Madison County, their loss dropped their record down to 0-1.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Maclay's homestand continues as they prepare to take on St. John Paul II at 1:30 p.m. on December 2nd. Hopefully St. John Paul II focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 21 on Friday. As for Madison County, they will look to defend their home court on Saturday against Munroe at 7:30 p.m. Hopefully Munroe focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up nine on Thursday.
