Baseball Recap: Clinton Gets the Win

Clinton won the last time they faced Maynard and things went their way on Thursday too. The Gaels walked away with a 9-5 win over the Tigers. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Gaels.

Josh Nelson was incredible, going a perfect 4-for-4 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. Those four hits gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Brian Silvester, who went 1-for-4 with one stolen base and one run.

Clinton's record is now 2-0. As for Maynard, with the defeat, they broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 3-2.

Coming up, Clinton will square off against Littleton at 3:30 p.m. on Friday. The Tigers have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 9.25 runs per game on average), something the Gaels will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Maynard, they will take on Fitchburg at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.
