Basketball Recap: Arvada Triumphs

Arvada's game last Monday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Saturday. They secured a 58-52 W over the Village Mountaineers. This was payback for the Bulldogs, who suffered a 60-32 defeat the last time these two teams met.

Nathaniel Zebroski was a one-man wrecking crew as he shot 69% from the field en route to 25 points and five steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Deymian Than, who posted 11 points and three steals.

When it comes to explaining why Village lost, don't look at James Driggers. Despite the final result, he dropped a double-double with 24 points and ten rebounds. The contest was Driggers' third in a row with at least 19 points. Another player making a difference was Caleb Heath, who went 6-for-13 on his way to 15 points and five steals.

The win got Arvada back to even at 1-1. As for Village, they dropped their record down to 0-3 with the loss, which was their third straight at home.

Arvada didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 56-39 victory against Alameda on the 9th. As for Village, they are packing up and heading out on the road for their first away game of the season: they will challenge Pueblo South at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday.
