Basketball Recap: Arvada Gets the Win

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Westminster, Arvada was happy to have turned things around on Saturday. They managed a 58-52 victory over the Village Mountaineers. For the Bulldogs, this counts as revenge for the 60-32 win the Mountaineers walked away with the last time they faced one another back in February.

When it comes to explaining why Village lost, don't look at James Driggers. Despite the final result, he dropped a double-double with 24 points and ten boards. That was a full 46.2% of the Mountaineers' points, marking the third time in a row Driggers has posted more than a third of the team's points. Caleb Heath was another key player, shooting 46% from the field en route to 15 points and five steals.

The victory got Arvada back to even at 1-1. As for Village, their loss was their third straight at home, which dropped their record down to 0-3.

Coming up, Arvada will host Alameda at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Village, they will be taking part in a tournament against Pueblo South at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday.
