Baseball Recap: Heritage Picks Up Fourth Consecutive Victory

It may have taken ten innings to finish the job, but Heritage ultimately got the result they hoped for on Saturday. They walked away with a 7-4 win over the Moreno Valley Vikings. This was a revenge game for the Patriots: when they faced off against the Vikings last Tuesday, they had to take a 12-0 loss.

Eli Martinez made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run over 6.2 innings pitched. Martinez was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with one double and one RBI. That double was his first of the season.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Lukas Tello, who went 4-for-5 with one stolen base, one run, and one double. Those four hits gave him a new career-high. Joe Estrada was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two RBI and one run.

Heritage kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 14 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Moreno Valley only managed nine hits.

The victory was the fourth in a row for Heritage, bringing their record up to 19-8. They've had to fight for that success though, as they only beat their opponents by an average of 1.75 runs across that stretch. As for Moreno Valley, their defeat dropped their record down to 16-10.
