Basketball Recap: Mt. Carmel Takes a Loss

Mt. Carmel was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They took a 47-39 hit to the loss column at the hands of the North Posey Vikings. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Golden Aces of the 54-38 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in February of 2025.

Brayden Compton had another great game (as he tends to do), going 8-for-14 on his way to 16 points along with six boards and three blocks for North Posey. Another player making a difference was Cru Wilzbacher, who posted five points.

Mt. Carmel's loss dropped their record down to 11-14. As for North Posey, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 5-12.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Mt. Carmel will welcome Paris at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. The Golden Aces will be up against the Tigers' rather soft defense (which has allowed 52.92 points per matchup), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for North Posey, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Southridge at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
