Basketball Recap: Highland's Win on Tuesday Extends Winning Streak to Three

Highland waltzed into their matchup on Tuesday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They snuck past the Crestview Cougars with a 54-50 win. The victory was all the more spectacular given the Fighting Scots' disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 409th, while the Cougars are ranked 196th).

Highland found their leader in sophomore Jakai Wilson, who went 7 of 10 en route to 23 points. Those 23 points set a new season-high mark for Wilson. Another player making a difference was Toby Rogers, who posted ten points and eight rebounds.

Highland smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with ten offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive rebounds in seven consecutive games.

The win got Highland back to even at 6-6. As for Crestview, their defeat ended a five-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 8-1.

Highland didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 62-38 loss against Buckeye Valley on the 11th. As for Crestview, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 75-50 victory against Western Reserve on the 10th.
