Football Recap: Sports Leadership & Management Cobras vs. Cardinal Newman Crusaders

Monday just wasn't the day for Sports Leadership & Management's offense. They were dealt a 41-0 loss at the hands of the Cardinal Newman Crusaders on Monday. The Cobras lost against the Crusaders in their previous head to head back in April of 2024, too, but the margin this time around was even wider than the 19-7 score last time.

Cardinal Newman found their leader in sophomore Jalyn Escobar, who threw for 147 yards and four touchdowns. The dominant performance also gave Escobar a new career-high in rushing yards (27). Sophia Correa was Escobar's top target, picking up 44 receiving yards and two touchdowns.

Sports Leadership & Management is on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-6. As for Cardinal Newman, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 4-4.
