Basketball Recap: Odessa Comes Up Short

After flying high against Lake View last Tuesday, Odessa came back down to earth. The Odessa Bronchos fell 58-50 to the Permian Panthers on Friday. The Bronchos have struggled against the Panthers recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.

Odessa now has a losing record at 12-13. As for Permian, their victory bumped their record up to 16-8.

Odessa will face off against San Angelo Central at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. San Angelo Central knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past 25 matches -- so hopefully Odessa likes a good challenge. As for Permian, they will square off against Midland Legacy at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Permian is on a six-game streak of home wins, Midland Legacy a four-game streak of away wins -- so someone will have to leave a streak behind on the court.
