Baseball Recap: Palestine-Wheatley Beats Mccrory for Their Fourth Straight Victory

While Palestine-Wheatley put up some runs on Monday, the same can't be said for McCrory. The Patriots came out on top against the Jaguars by a score of 4-0. The victory was nothing new for the Patriots as they're now sitting on four straight.

Jacob Hickman made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he struck out seven batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits. That's the most strikeouts he has posted since back in May of 2024. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with one stolen base and one RBI. He has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times he's played.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Brody Parker, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. That's the most runs he has posted since back in March.

Palestine-Wheatley's win was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 14-7. Those road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 6.4 runs over those games. As for McCrory, their defeat ended a 15-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 10-6.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Palestine-Wheatley will host Clarendon at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for McCrory, they will look to defend their home field on Tuesday against Quitman at 5:00 p.m.
