Basketball Recap: Berkeley Gets the Win

Berkeley hadn't done well against Cane Bay recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Monday. The Berkeley Stags came out on top in a nail-biter against the Cane Bay Cobras, sneaking past 48-46. For the Stags, this counts as revenge for the 59-56 victory the Cobras walked away with the last time they faced one another back in February of 2024.

Several Cobras players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Jarvis Roper, who posted nine points and five rebounds. That's the most boards Roper has posted since back in December of 2024. Jahleel Sanders was another key player, putting up ten points.

The win made it two in a row for Berkeley and bumps their season record up to 14-4. As for Cane Bay, the loss snapped their winning streak at nine games and leaves them with a 14-5 record.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Berkeley has already played their next contest (against Lucy Beckham), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Cane Bay will be playing at home against Goose Creek at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Goose Creek has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
