League recap: Holtel's hot bat leads Westminster Catawba Christian

NCISAA Metrolina league recap: 3/27/13

Sam Holtel was the hottest hitter in NCISAA Metrolina this week, racking up a .778 average, one home run and eight RBIs. Westminster Catawba Christian went 0-4.

SouthLake Christian Academy's Bradley Hallman was the best pitcher in the league this week. Over the past week, he racked up one win and 11 strikeouts.

SouthLake Christian Academy led the league with 35 runs scored this week, but Gaston Christian still holds the season lead with 74 runs.

After surrendering only five walks in the past week, the Indians remain No. 1 in the league in that category for the season, with just 23 total.

Westminster Catawba Christian's Holtel tore up NCISAA Metrolina this week as he led the league in average, hits and RBIs. Holtel dominated the league's pitching staff this week with an impressive .778 average and eight RBIs thanks to seven hits.



Eight RBIs over the past week allowed the Indians' Holtel to boost his season output so far to 15, tops in the league.

Cameron Marlowe went 3-for-4 as Hickory Grove Christian defeated First Assembly Christian 6-3 on Thursday. He also scored one run.
