Baseball Recap: San Pasqual Comes Up Short

San Pasqual was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They were two runs away from ending the streak, but they lost a 4-2 heartbreaker at the hands of the Sage Creek Bobcats. Unfortunately, that's the third time they've come up short against the Bobcats this season, with their most recent defeat being a 5-0 loss on Wednesday.

San Pasqual handed starting duties to Demitri San Nicolas, who gave a strong showing despite the result: he tossed five innings while giving up three earned runs off three hits. San Nicolas has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than two walks in six consecutive appearances.

At the plate, San Pasqual saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Carter Stubblefield, who went 1-for-4 with one RBI. Pascal Staples also deserves some recognition as he scored his first run of the season.

San Pasqual's defeat dropped their record down to 7-20. As for Sage Creek, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 10-17.

San Pasqual wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next matchup, a 17-6 loss against Torrey Pines on the 13th. As for Sage Creek, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, an 11-1 win against Escondido on the 13th.
