Baseball Recap: Shelby Valley Takes a Loss

It was a proper cat-fight when Shelby Valley duked it out with Floyd Central on Monday. The Wildcats fell 9-5 to the Jaguars. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Jaguars this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 4-2 back in March.

Shelby Valley has also traveled a rocky road recently, having lost ten of their last 11 contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-18 record this season. As for Floyd Central, the victory was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 19-12.

Coming up, Shelby Valley will face off against Lawrence County at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Bulldogs' pitching crew has only allowed 3.9 runs per game this season, so the Wildcats' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Floyd Central, they will head out on the road to square off against Pike County Central at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
