Softball Recap: Waseca Takes a Loss

If Waseca was feeling good fresh off their 10-0 takedown of Sibley East on Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Bluejays took a 7-4 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Waterville-Elysian-Morristown Buccaneers on Saturday. The Bluejays haven't had much luck with the Buccaneers recently, as the team has come up short the last seven times they've met.

Waseca's defeat dropped their record down to 5-13. As for Waterville-Elysian-Morristown, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five games. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-8 record this season.

Waseca is taking a road trip to take on Randolph at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Rockets' pitching crew has only allowed 1.7 runs per game this season, so the Bluejays' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Waterville-Elysian-Morristown, they wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next contest, an 11-0 win against Schaeffer Academy on the 18th.
