Baseball Recap: Dallas County Victorious

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Billingsley, Dallas County was happy to have turned things around on Thursday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 6-4 win over the West Blocton Tigers. This was payback for the Hornets, who suffered a 15-0 loss the last time these two teams met.

Devin Sharpe was excellent, going 1-for-3 with two stolen bases, one run, and one double. He is becoming a predictor of Dallas County's success: when he posts at least two stolen bases the team is undefeated (and 1-9 when he doesn't). The team also got some help courtesy of Jacob Solomon, who went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases and one run.

Dallas County's victory bumped their record up to 6-9. As for West Blocton, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-10.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: the Tigers beat Dallas County by a score of 15-2 later that day.
