Baseball Game Preview: Erwin Warriors vs. North Buncombe Black Hawks

For the second straight game, Erwin will face off against North Buncombe. The Warriors will be playing at home against the Black Hawks at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday.

On Tuesday, Erwin came up short against North Buncombe and fell 7-4. The Warriors haven't had much luck with the Black Hawks recently, as the team has come up short the last four times they've met.

For North Buncombe's part, Kameron Keenan was a major factor no matter where he played. He tossed 3.1 innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off four hits. Keenan also tossed a walk, which is notable because North Buncombe is 7-1 when he allows at most one walk, but 5-7 otherwise. Keenan was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with one run and one double.

In other batting news, North Buncombe let Dalton Anderson and Bannen Winker run wild. Anderson went 2-for-4 with two RBI, one run, and one double, while Winker went 3-for-5 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double. That's the most RBI Anderson has posted since back in April of 2024. Another player making a difference was Jack Davis, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base and one run.

North Buncombe's win bumped their record up to 12-8. As for Erwin, their loss dropped their record down to 6-9.
