The Central Bucks South Titans will square off against the Central Bucks East Patriots at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
Central Bucks South fell victim to Hatboro-Horsham and their airtight pitching crew on Thursday. They lost 8-0 to the Hatters. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Titans have suffered since April 17, 2024.
Meanwhile, Central Bucks East's rock-solid pitchers showed up for the team's third consecutive shutout on Monday. Their pitchers stepped up to hand Gwynedd Mercy Academy a 17-0 shutout. The Patriots might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won four contests by ten runs or more this season.
Sarah Zmuda made a splash while hitting and pitching. She tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than one walk in four consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 1-for-2 with one run, one double, and one RBI.
In other pitching news, Lyla Becker looked comfortable as she pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-high in strikeouts (three).
Back at the plate, Hailey Helmstetter was a standout: she went a perfect 3-for-3 with four runs, four RBI, and one double. Those four runs gave her a new career-high. Maggie Funston was another key player, going 2-for-3 with four runs, two stolen bases, and two RBI.
Central Bucks East hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. They are 6-2 when they post two or more strikeouts.
Central Bucks East pushed their record up to 8-5 with the win, which was their sixth straight on the road. The road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.7 runs on average over those games. As for Central Bucks South, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-6.
