Basketball Game Preview: Bethany Christian Bruins vs. Hamilton Marines

Bethany Christian is 8-1 against Hamilton since January of 2015 and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Saturday. The Bethany Christian Bruins are taking a road trip to face off against the Hamilton Marines at 3:00 p.m. Bethany Christian has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.

Having struggled with 15 defeats in a row, Bethany Christian turned things around against South Bend Career Academy on Thursday. They really took it to the Trailblazers for the full four quarters, racking up a 49-13 victory. The Bruins' offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

Kendra Kern and Karlee Crume were among the main playmakers for Bethany Christian as the former went 5 for 10 on her way to 11 points in addition to five boards and three steals and the latter dropped a double-double on 15 points and 11 rebounds. The dominant performance gave Crume a new career-high in rebounds. Ellie Morris was another key player, putting up six points and four steals.

Bethany Christian was working as a unit and finished the game with 14 assists. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their assist total in three consecutive games.

Meanwhile, Hamilton was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their seventh straight loss. They took a blow against Lakeland, falling 64-24.

Bethany Christian's win ended a seven-game drought on the road and puts them at 2-15. As for Hamilton, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-12.

Bethany Christian took their victory against Hamilton in their previous matchup back in February of 2024 by a conclusive 52-29. Will Bethany Christian repeat their success, or does Hamilton have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
