Lemont proved they can win big on Tuesday (they won by 15) and on Wednesday they proved they can win the close ones too. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 2-0 victory over the Argo Argonauts. The Lemont HS haven't had any issues with the Argonauts recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive win against them.
Not much got past Mila Mardjetko, who gave up just three hits and racked up ten Ks to keep Argo off the board.
At the plate, Lemont saw seven different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Emma Lagan, who went 2-for-3 with one double and one RBI.
Lemont hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team has now struck out at least five batters in four consecutive games.
Lemont's record now sits at 16-7. As for Argo, their loss dropped their record down to 17-6.
