Santana took a loss when they played away from home two weeks ago, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Friday. Everything went their way against Hilltop as Santana made off with a 37-14 victory.
Santana found their leader in underclassman Denton Goar, who picked up 129 receiving yards and a touchdown, and also rushed for 36 yards. Goar got the majority of those receiving yards when he pulled down a pass and took off for a gain of 78 yards.
Perhaps unsurprisingly given the score, Santana was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 339 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 167 rushing yards in three consecutive matches.
Meanwhile, Olympian took their matchup on the road on Friday with ease, bagging a 40-7 win over Trivium Prep. The game was all but wrapped up at the end of the third, by which point the Eagles had established a 26 point advantage.
A big part of the victory came down to the chemistry between Isaac Powell and his top target Arnoldo Mora. Powell threw for 245 yards and five touchdowns while Mora picked up 121 receiving yards and two touchdowns. The dominant performance gave him a new career- in total yards.
