Softball Recap: Clark Falls Short of Desert Oasis in the Playoffs

Clark and Desert Oasis squared off in some playoff action on Wednesday, but Clark had to settle for second. They took an 8-3 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Diamondbacks. The loss continues a trend for the Chargers in their meetings with the Diamondbacks: they've now lost eight in a row.

Sofia Garcia made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-2 with one triple and one run. That triple was her first of the season. Paola Garcia was another key player, going 1-for-4 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

Clark's defeat dropped their record down to 14-8-1. As for Desert Oasis, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 11-8-1.

Coming up, Clark will head out on the road to square off against Foothill at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. The Chargers' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Falcons have averaged an impressive 9.2 runs per game this season. As for Desert Oasis, they have already played their next contest, a 15-6 loss against Doral Academy Red Rock on the 8th.
