Football Game Preview: Crestview Cougars vs. Western Reserve Roughriders

The Crestview Cougars will venture away from home to face off against the Western Reserve Roughriders at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Crestview is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last five games.

On Friday, Crestview beat St. Paul 30-21.

Liam Kuhn had an outrageously good game as he rushed for 87 yards and one TD on only ten carries, and also threw for 174 yards and a pair of touchdowns. Those 87 rushing yards gave him a new career-high. Ayden Reymer was another key player, gaining 96 total yards and two touchdowns.

Meanwhile, Western Reserve never let their opponents score on Friday. They claimed a resounding 39-0 victory over South Central. The Roughriders have beaten the Trojans the last four times they've met, but they better watch out: this was the closest the Trojans has come to flipping the script.

Crestview's win bumped their record up to 5-2. As for Western Reserve, their victory bumped their record up to an identical 5-2.

Everything went Crestview's way against Western Reserve in their previous matchup back in October of 2024, as Crestview made off with a 28-8 win. In that contest, the Cougars amassed a halftime lead of 28-8, an impressive feat they'll look to repeat on Friday.
