Baseball Recap: Firebaugh Comes Up Short

Firebaugh and Minarets squared off in some playoff action on Friday, but Firebaugh had to settle for second. They lost 12-1 to the Mustangs. Having soared to a lofty 16 runs in the game before, the Eagles couldn't push the score so high this time.

Firebaugh's loss was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 9-20. Those road defeats can't be blamed on the team's hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.7 runs over those games. As for Minarets, their record now sits at 21-8-1.

Firebaugh does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Minarets, they will take on Santa Maria at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Mustangs' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Saints have averaged an impressive 6.1 runs per game this season.
