Saxony Lutheran had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 14 runs) and they went ahead and made it four on Tuesday. They were the clear victors by a 17-2 margin over the East Carter Redbirds. The Crusaders have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Redbirds, too.

Korby Engert made a big impact no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching three innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off four hits. Engert was also big at the plate, scoring two runs while going 2-for-3.

In other batting news, Saxony Lutheran got a massive performance out of Jake Sparks, who went 2-for-4 with one home run and four RBI. That home run was Sparks' first of the season. Another player making a difference was Brayden Moore, who scored three runs and stole two bases while going 3-for-3.

Saxony Lutheran always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .714. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Saxony Lutheran pushed their record up to 8-4 with the win, which was their third straight at home. The home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 14.3 runs over those games. As for East Carter, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 6-3.

Looking ahead, Saxony Lutheran will challenge Kelly at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for East Carter, they are taking a road trip to take on Van Buren at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
