Football Recap: Culver City Takes a Loss + How To Watch

Culver City managed to slip by Palos Verdes the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. The Centaurs took a blow against the Sea Kings on Friday, falling 48-7. The Centaurs were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 28-0.

Despite the defeat, Culver City had strong showings from Harley Moore, who picked up 90 receiving yards and one TD, and Nicholas Hoang, who threw for 204 yards and one touchdown. Moore showed off some serious burst, cutting upfield on a catch for 57 yards.

A big part of Palos Verdes' victory came down to the chemistry between Ryan Rakowski and his top target Morley Boyd. Rakowski threw for 304 yards and four TDs while completing 73.9% of his passes while Boyd picked up 200 receiving yards and a pair of scores. The dominant performance also gave Boyd a new career-high in receiving touchdowns (two).

This is the second loss in a row for Culver City and nudges their season record down to 3-3. As for Palos Verdes, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 4-2.

Culver City wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next game, a 37-14 loss against Mira Costa on the 10th. As for Palos Verdes, they have also already played their next matchup, a 40-14 defeat against Leuzinger on the 9th.
