Softball Recap: Jones Victorious

While Jones's win against Edgewater wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Fightin' Tigers had just enough and edged out the Eagles 30-28. The Fightin' Tigers haven't had any issues with the Eagles recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive victory against them.

Chelsey Henderson was incredible, scoring four runs and stealing six bases while getting on base in five of her seven plate appearances. Those runs marked the first that she scored this season. Another player making a difference was Deztini Soberal, who scored a run and stole two bases while getting on base in all six of her plate appearances.

Jones was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .600. The last time their batting average was this high was back in April of 2024.

The win was their first at home , bumping their record up to 2-8. As for Edgewater, they are on a 26-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-11.

Coming up, Edgewater will square off against Bishop Moore at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Jones will be paying especially close attention to the Eagles' contest: after the Eagles faces off against the Hornets, they'll take on Jones again at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
