Basketball Recap: Murphysboro Comes Up Short

Murphysboro was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their sixth straight loss. They had to suffer through a 51-22 loss at the hands of the Trico Pioneers. The Red Devils were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 39-9.

Murphysboro's defeat dropped their record down to 4-14. As for Trico, the win (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 9-5.

Murphysboro didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 47-22 loss against Carterville on the 9th. As for Trico, they are taking a road trip to face off against Sesser-Valier/Waltonville at 6:00 p.m. on January 13th.
